We are pleased to introduce you to the keynote speakers for the World Council:
Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda from Zimbabwe is a trained human rights lawyer with extensive experience in conflict resolution and mediation who has worked tirelessly for advancing women and children’s human rights. Nyaradzayi served Secretary General for the World YWCA in Geneva.
Howard Smith is President of the Harlem Globetrotters, which, as part of the Herschend Enterprises Group, combines their Christian values with sport and humanity. Howard has a background from entertainment brands across the globe and he also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield.
Peter Burns is Chief Executive of YMCA Victoria Group. Peter has a lifetime involvement with the YMCA movement and has led his YMCA through a time of unprecedented growth and diversification. This period is grounded deeply in the mission achievement of the YMCA, and underpinned by his commitment to build enduring partnerships and ensure equitable access for all to the YMCA’s programmes and services.
